DJ's, where do you get your music?

a dj needs a lot of music, but it can get really expensive really fast. is there a cheap way to get music. i know its easy to download illegally (torrents, etc.) but that's illegal, and the audio files are warped WAY off beat and low quality. plus u can get in pretty big trouble with the fed. beatport is great, but SO expensive. what's a good solution?
