Will we have to watch non-stop coverage of Mays life and death too?
I'm sure there will be some news report announcing his death, but I seriously doubt he will get coverage like Michael has. You have to remember, Michael Jackson has been a celebrity since he was 10 years old, that almost 40 years. Not to mention, the King of Pop redefined music videos, dances, concerts, the Pop culture in general. He broke the racial barrier on MTV. He sold an estimated 750 million records worldwide. His album Thriller was the highest selling album of all time, in the world. Thriller went Platinum 21 times. His album Off the Wall went Platinum 7 times, Bad Platinum 8 times, Dangerous Platinum 7 times, HIStory Platinum 7times, and finally Invincible Platinum 2 times. That is why he is getting so much coverage. The name Michael Jackson is immortal, everyone knows who he is. He is what you call, a Superstar. Brittney Spears, Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, whoever, cannot touch him. Not to mention his highly publicized, and sometimes bizarre life. Billy May's, is well, Billy Mays.
